A Modern Womyn’s Dating Lexicon: Important Definitions

I just realized there are some important terms ya’ll need to know before I keep going with the MWDL.

Real quick, here you go. Learn these! Use these! You’ll be amazed how easy they are to slip into casual convo.

As the lexicon expands, I’ll add to this post. Feel free to offer suggestions in the comments!

Important definitions in the MWDL:

Sucker-mack: Have you ever been drunkenly dancing with a dude and then all of a sudden he starts to kiss you? And you kinda don’t realize what he’s doing until it’s already over? If so, you’ve been sucker-macked. It’s sort of like being sucker-punched, only with lips and tongues instead of fists.

Sucker-fuck: Sucker fucking has a couple definitions.

1. Similar to sucker-macking only with penises and vaginas. (Or I guess whatever parts you use, but you have to understand that my dating experience comes from a pretty hetero-normative perspective…) Please note: an SF is still consensual!

2. Fucking someone you know you ought not — thus making you a sucker.

Pseudo Dating: When you’re dating someone, but not really. This is different from a “fuck buddy,” because you actually have feelings for each other. (For the record, I hate the term fuck buddy. Ew, ew!) You give each other just enough to hold on to, but not enough to feel emotionally satisfied. You might be monogamous, but there’s no way of knowing if your partner is because these agreements operate within a “don’t ask, don’t tell” framework. These “relationships” usually end when one of you finds someone you want to for reals date, or when one of you attempts to have a defining conversation about what you are doing together.
